Introduction

Known as the 'Brecht' of Korea, Master Oh is one of the most famous playwrights in Korea today. His plays are energetic and fun, transcending the lanugate barrier to appeal to an international audience. His theatre works connect Korea's past with the present by exploring traditional perfoining arts, history, shaman rites and legendsin search of what he calls 'Korean-ness'.

Master Oh Tae Sok has won many prestigious awards including Ho-Am Artist of the Year 2005. This will be the first time that his Company will perform in the UK and it is most appropriate for him to bring his unique interpretation of Romeo and Juliet to the home of Shakespeare.
